The following videos demonstrate another way of examining the Swadesh List of language terms, that of an audio composite. The sound you hear is the end result of taking a spoken recording of all 207 Swadesh terms plus the name of the language itself and layering those audio files upon each other. One could think of this as the “base word” for each language.
